How We Help
The Library of Michigan Foundation raises private support for special programs, services, and collections of the Library of Michigan. These are important literary pursuits that add significantly to the cultural fabric of Michigan, but are outside what governmental and taxpayer funds support.
The Foundation also manages private funds for the Michigan Braille and Talking Books Library which serves over 11,000 patrons who are visually and/or physically impaired.
HELP SUPPORT MICHIGAN LIBRARIES FOR TODAY and TOMORROW
WHAT WE DO
The Library of Michigan Foundation exists to support and raise funds for the Library of Michigan to help preserve Michigan history and culture, ensure broad access to quality information, and to promote rich literary programs and life-long reading.
The Library of Michigan’s mission is the same today as it was when first founded in 1828: to preserve and promote our state’s rich heritage and history, in one place, through its outstanding and growing collection of materials that include Michigan rare books, maps, newspapers, documents, legislative collections, and more. Additionally, it brings the wonder of Michigan’s culturally rich literary works to you and to libraries across the state.
